Our first night of trivia begins on Feb 28th. Check it out on our events calendar below!
Tommy Johnson is a craft beer enthusiast turned small business owner. While working as a healthcare consultant for over 2 years in Asheville, North Carolina, he decided that Fort Myers needed the type of craft beer taproom and bottle shop that you see across the Carolinas. After research in Asheville and Charlotte, North Carolina, Charleston and Greenville, South Carolina, it was clear that the business model was there and would be successful. Tommy worked with industry friends in Asheville and in SWFL on shaping a business plan that would use those inspirations to fit the Fort Myers area. There you have the Southland Taproom. With the assistance of his wife and business partner, Holly Rae, it has become reality.
The Southland Taproom is an independent craft beer taproom that has 24 rotating taps that come from Florida, the South and across the Country. We also have red, white and sparkling wine, and hard water. The booming craft beer scene from Punta Gorda to Naples is getting better by the day, and it needs to be promoted and celebrated. The state of Florida is starting to catch up with the rest of the nation's hot spots of craft beer with cities like Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa/St. Pete. There are way too many great breweries turning out great beer to not be shared with our customers. And last, but not least, we want to provide customers with some of the best Southern crafts that we can bring to SWFL. From Charleston to Baton Rouge and beyond, we will put on tap the best that is possible.
One simple vision; Good Beer and Good Vibes.
The Southland Taproom can be found at 16230 Summerlin Road Suite 210 (The Village Shoppes at Health Park) in the heart of South Fort Myers.
We are fortunate to have a unit that gives us 1,830 feet of space. We offer unique comforts for our guests including a back area we call our "Reynolds Room" that has 2 couches and a tv with gaming unit. Also there's porch swing seating and high top tables. A great space for impromptu business meetings or socializing. Open and airy, the space will be great for live music, special event, or as your neighborhood gathering spot. Come relax, disconnect, and drink great craft beer.
